It’s easy to make your own hologram projector. All it needs is a non-intimidating list of items, skills of an 8 year old kid, and just about enough time to make an instant hot coffee.
YouTuber and independent tech reviewer Mrwhosetheboss has uploaded an instructional video that turns your smartphone into a 3D hologram projector with household items. You can have it ready even before you could get online and order a Holho- a portable hologram generator.
The ingredients you need:
- A utility knife cutter
- Paper
- CD case
- Pen or Marker
- Duct tape or Glue
- Hologram Specific Videos
Step 1 – Draw on Paper
On a piece of paper mark a trapezoid of the dimensions below. The larger mobile screen you have, the larger can be these dimensions. Scale the dimensions (with the same proportions) up for better effect. Cut the paper trapezoid out.
Step 2 – Get a CD case
Even an old CD case can do, break all the edges off. This is done to make it easy for you to cut the CD case according to the paper template created in Step 1.
Step 3- Mark the CD case
Mark the CD case using the template from Step 1.
Step 4 – Cut the CD case
Cut the CD case along the guide marks with a Utility knife cutter or any knife that can get the job done.
You need four of these trapezoids.
Step 5- Build a Pyramid
Use tape to stick the pieces together. You can also use glues designed for plastics. And you end up with your very own hologram generator.
Step 6- Go Play!
Find hologram specific videos online and you are good to go ! Place the hologram generator on your phone screen. If you are thinking this isn’t worth an effort, you are wrong! With some amazing videos available online you can have a good time with friends and family!
